If rumors are to be believed, then the French carmaker is planning to bring the advanced version of Captur crossover in emerging markets like India, Brazil, Russia and other South east Asian countries. This version will be known by the name “Renault Grand Captur”. It will be a seven seater SUV that is expected to be launched at 2017. This all information is the speculation and no official announcement is done yet.
According to the gossip, this 7-Seater SUV will be internally called as ‘Renault HHA’. And will be targeting the customers of the cars like Mahindra XUV500, Honda BR-V and the upcoming Tata Hexa. According to some reports, this car will build on extended version of Renault Duster, which will reduce the all over manufacturing cost and hence will be more affordable.

Talking about affordability, then the expected price of this car is around Rs. 12 lakh – Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Coming to power specifications, Renault may offer four powering options to Grand Captur : Energy TCe 90 petrol and TCe 120 EDC petrol, Energy dCi 90 diesel and dCi 90 EDC diesel. As a transmission option, 5-speed manual or a 6-speed EDC automatic will be available. For Indian markets, this 6-speed EDC Automatic can be replaced by AMT gearbox, as it will further reduce the cost. Mileage expected from the car is around 15kmpl – 16kmpl.
Renault grand captur will have new styling and extended wheelbase as revealed by the Autos segredos in their report. This car will have more generous cabin space than the running Captur crossover and larger rear overhang. According to Russian reports, that the production of Renault grand captur will start from next year.
