Two major Indian car producers are all set the launch their products in January 2016. Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its sub-4m SUV which is called by the name of “Mahindra KUV100”(codenamed as S101). On the other hand, Tata is ready with its small global hatchback “Tata Zica” (codenamed as Kite). Since both cars are coming in same month of the year, so naturally a comparison has initiated Mahindra KUV100 vs Tata Zica. So here is the quick review about both models.
Price of KUV100 and Zica
Although official priced are announced by company, which is starting price 4.42 lakhs that both the models with be costing around Rs 4.5 lakhs. Mahindra KUV100, since smaller than 4 meters in length will went through less duty concessions. It is a top model KUV 100 cost is 6,76 lakhs, but as mentioned earlier no exact price is announced of Tata Zica. Zica will be a Indica replacement by Tata and it will be promoted by Lionel Messi. Production of both the cars have started and both are in the end of their testing phase.
Engine comparisons of KUV100 and Zica
Both the models will be available in two power options: petrol and diesel variant. Petrol variant of Zica will be powered by 1.2-litre petrol engine that can provide power and torque upto 85PS and 110Nm respectively. Whereas G80 mFalcon Petrol will be powering the petrol variant of KUV100 which can chunk power of 82bhp and torque upto 114 Nm. Its diesel variant will be powered by D75 mFalcon Diesel that is capable of producing 77bhp power and 190nm torque. Coming to Tata Zica, then Zica will have 1.0-litre turbocharged diesel motor as a diesel powering engine which can provide power of 70PS and torque of 140Nm. Both models will be mated by 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.
Design Comparisons of Zica vs KUV100
Features like LED DRLs, swept back headlamps, mounted rear door handle, are the features that give Mahindra KUV100 a distinct look. This car has the similar body cladding, high set bonnet etc. features as of other SUV’s. Talking about the designing of Zica than its overall designing is appealing. Tata Zica looks are different from other Tata cars and its sharp headlamps, tail lamps, elongated grille are becoming the talk of the town. So on all, one can conclude that both cars have unique as well as attractive appearance.
